Red Shores' Weekend Preview
Red Shores has sent out preview stories for its weekend programs of live racing at the Charlottetown Driving Park and Summerside Raceway.
Invitational Stars Invade Charlottetown in the Ladner Memorial
Maritime superstars will hit the track Saturday with two eliminations of the Cecil Ladner Memorial, while the colts and fillies compete in the Maritime Breeders eliminations. First-race post time is 6:00 p.m.
Outlawpositivcharg has been established as the morning-line favourite in the first Ladner Elimination off the rail for driver Terry Gallant. The 'Outlaw' was sharp with a trip in 1:56. two races back on May 16. The former Governor’s Plate champion, trained by Thane Mann, will no doubt be on top of his game when the wings fold. It won’t be easy. The field is deep with talent, including Pownal Bay Mustang (to be driven by Kenny Arsenault), Carnivore (Gary Chappell), Balanchine (Brodie MacPhee), Chasin Racin (Marc Campbell) First Art Down (Ron Matheson) and Touch of Lightning (Earl Smith).
The Gallant-Mann team also has a good shot in the second Ladner elimination when they send out Proven Lover from Post 4. The race will also feature Capitalism, Nakai Hanover, McApulco, Roscoes Child, Brief Bliss, Windemere Express and All Turain.
In other news, Misssassy Attitude will be looking for her third win a row for co-owners Ken Wilkie, Stratford and Larry Chappell, Marshfield. Kenny Arsenault, who engineered stakes victories in the Ruby Chappell at Summerside and Truro, will be in the bike in the Maritime Breeders elimination.

Open Trotters Take Center Stage in Summerside
The best trotters in the Maritimes will clash during Summerside Raceway's 12-dash Sunday program. First-race post time is 1:00 p.m.
Caliban Hanover, with Ron Gass in the bike, will meet Buckling Banbury from Andrew Stable in Race 5 when the open trotters go behind the gate. Corey Macpherson will be in the bike. Pilot Brian Andrew will handle the other Andrew entry, Honeymoonisover. Newcomer Abundaspin, who won Thursday night at the CDP, moves to the Prince County oval for Harold Shepherd. Diamond Mine, Zip the Lip, Tymal Tyme and Dee Dee Pucker are also part of the roster.
The afternoon top class has been carded as Race 11 and will feature Lis Finny and Van Zant, among others. Summerside’s top trainer, Blaine McKenna, has three entered in the race with JJ Maywest (Walter Cheverie), Bet the House (Jason Hughes) and Great Dragon who makes his PEI debut for Mike Stevenson. Sparky Bayama and Terem Up Louie complete the field.
