Lightning Strike Causes 'No Contest'

The fourth race at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday, June 11 was declared a 'no contest' by the judges of the New York State Gaming Commission due to loss of communications prior to the beginning of the race which was caused by a lightning strike at the track’s hub facility.

The race was declared a no contest and all wagers have been refunded. However, the Pick 3 wager of numbers “2, 3, and all” was paid.

Thereafter, communications were restored and the remainder of the races were conducted.
