Women Rule At Harrington
Round two of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund eliminations were contested for three-year-old pacing fillies Tuesday at Harrington Raceway in the form of three $20,000 divisions.
Crissy Crissman-Bier and Su-Mar Racing Stable’s Women Rule ($4.80, Sean Bear) atoned for a disappointing showing in last week’s elimination, with a 1:56 triumph this week over Bags Of Stars. The daughter of Rustler Hanover set all the fractions from her rail post position for trainer and co-owner Crissman-Bier.
Ron Davis’ Grace Of An Angel ($3.60, George Dennis) took the first division for trainer Les Givens. The Roddys Bags Again-sired filly completed a sweep of her eliminations with a determined late charge to reel in pacesetter Inittowinafortune in 1:55.3, which was the fastest division.
Garnet O’Marrow’s Seboomook Boo Yah ($7, Allan Davis) took the second division in wire-to-wire fashion in 1:56.3 over KJs Caroline. It was the third win of the year for the Funny Bones-sired filly and trainer Wayne Givens.
The $100,000 final will be held on July 25 as part of the annual Governor’s Day program (special 7 p.m. post time) during the Delaware State Fair.
The overnight feature was won by Foulk Stables’ Eyewitness Account ($4.40, Jim Morand) in the $19,000 Mares Open in 1:53.1. The Trish Foulk-trainee notched her second straight win and sixth on the season.
Sean Bier, Jim Morand and Tony Morgan each had driving doubles.
