Truro Quarantine Lifted
This afternoon, the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission's Director Of Racing, Dr. Paul Hogan, told Trot Insider that Truro Raceway is strangles-free.
"The quarantine at Truro Raceway has been lifted as all test results have come back negative for strangles," said Hogan. "All horses are free to go about business as usual."

Several years ago I bought a horse in Ont that when he arrived was very ill and after a visit from our local vet was determined to have strangles. we were lucky that my trainer suspected the problem and called the vet ASAP.We put the horse in isolation and our only problem was keeping everyone out of that barn.thankfully, after following the vét instructions the puss pocket broke externally and he was fine. Regardless, it is incumbant upon every horse owner to practice good housekeeping to prevent the spread of this problem. Good luck to everyone involved with this problem
