Georgian Announces Promotions

Officials with Georgian Downs' marketing department have released details regarding some of the initiatives it will usher out for the opening card of its live meet, which has been drawn and is scheduled for this Saturday (June 8).

Opening night will feature a free t-shirt giveaway with program purchase, while supplies last.

There will also be food specials ($2 hot dog and $2 fries [with coupon]), and the ever-popular Money Machine will be back in action this weekend, as two lucky customers will have the chance to win $1,000 each.

Also new this Saturday, Georgian Downs will be giving away $500 in 'Mystery Betting Vouchers.'

Georgian Downs will host 25 live race cards this season, from June to August, with live racing on Tuesday and Saturday nights with first-race post times of 7:25 p.m.

That's a good start Georgian, give something back to the fans, they are the ones that you need to entertain and cater to. Free T shirts and cheap food is a start but don't have them line up for an hour to get something to eat. And that's a nice offer by George to have people get their picture taken in the winners circle. Show the them there is fun in this sport rather than them sitting in front of a slot machine pushing a button and watching their money go away. And i agree with George that this well maintained facility with it's nice 5/8 track should be racing much more than 25 days.

I will be there and count me in for the food. I have two horses racing and if I am lucky enough to win a race, I will try to invite anyone who wants to be in the picture, into the winner circle. I encourage others to offer as well. Fans would love that and it's free.

AND...Let's get Georgian to accept more race dates. 25 is nothing for that facility. Premier Wynne please work with GCGC. Don't send that transition panel.
