CDP Feature To Private Joke

Private Joke, with Gary Chappell driving, won the Thursday night feature in 1:58 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The six-year-old mare, who was sitting fourth at the head of the stretch, was able to get up in deep stretch to win the $2,200 pace over newcomer Doober Hoozzitz and Ovation Killean. Private Joke is owned by Wade Peconi, Breadalbane, PE, Windemere Farms and John Howatt, North Wiltshire. The winning trainer is Earl Watts.

The fastest mile of night went to Capitalism owned by Tommy Collings of Mount Stewart. Jason Hughes was in the bike for the 1:57 victory. Hughes had a driving double on the night.

Racing returns Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at Red Shores Summerside at 1 p.m.
