Classy Stacy Cruises At Trois Rivieres
Winning is something Classy Stacy has done on a regular basis in recent weeks, and on Tuesday night she continued her winning ways by taking home top prize in the co-featured $12,000 Invitational Trot.
Sent off as the 1-5 choice in the seven-horse affair, Classy Stacy was limbed out past the quarter pole before clearing to the top and out-stepping her rivals to the line in a time of 2:07.3 over a track rated “good” with a four-second allowance for time.
Gilles Dion engineered the winning trip with the Pierre Touchette trainee, who romped to win by more than six lengths over runner-up Winplaceandshowem. Coup De Foudre was third.
Michel Flanagan of Repentigny, QC holds the papers on the three-year-old daughter of Yankee Glide, who won for the fifth time in her last six starts.
D S Wild Man was parked every step of the mile in the other $12,000 Invitational Trot, but he still managed to drive off to a comfortable victory clocked in 2:05.4.
Driver Pascal Berube kept the four-year-old son of Feel Like A Winner alive despite the long journey, and the gelding used a :32.2 final quarter to win by more than a one-length margin over Lychee. Canaco Quotient rallied to take down third prize.
Christine Davignon conditions the gelding for the Delormier Stables Ltd of Kahnawake, QC. It was the second consecutive victory for the trotter, and the fifth of his career.
