Lorrie 'Pleases' At Harrington
Allen Kaplan, Ira Kaplan and David Sheib’s Lorrie Please ($4, George Dennis) was a well-backed winner in her 1:53.2 triumph in Tuesday’s $18,000 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway.
Trained by Mike Hall, it was the sixth win of the year for the six-year-old Western Ideal mare who is closing in on $100,000 in seasonal earnings with more than $90,000 banked this year.
Dennis and Lorrie Please grinded away first-over at pacesetter Yagonnakissmeornot who set fractions of :27, :56.4 and 1:25.2.
Lorrie Please wore down the leader and drew clear at the top of the stretch, while holding off a late charge by Scarlet Pandemic for a half length win. Your Beautiful finished third.
Lorrie Please returned to her home state after a month-plus long stint racing on the Pennsylvania circuit.
Driver Montrell Teague had three winners on the program. George Dennis and Allan Davis each had doubles.
