Meadows To Host Matinees

As part of its holiday-week schedule, The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will offer live daylight cards on Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30, as well as a Friday evening program. This represents a change from the track’s regular schedule, which typically includes Wednesday evening racing.

Wednesday’s program features a $100,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series stake for three-year-old colt and gelding pacers while an $18,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace highlights Thursday’s action. Both afternoon cards begin at 12:55 p.m.

On Friday, some of the top sophomore colt and gelding pacers in the Keystone State will compete in a $238,220 Pennsylvania Sires Stake known as the Bye Bye Byrd. Johns Polyview, whose 1:51.1 mile last year set the track record for two-year-old colt pacers, goes from the rail in Race 9, the stake’s third division. First post Friday is 6:55 p.m.
