Stablemates Star In Philly PASS Action
Driver Jim Morrill Jr. and trainer Chris Oakes teamed up for a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes double with three-year-old trotting fillies Frau Blucher and Lady Broadway winning their respective $61,000-plus divisions Friday at Harrah's Philadelphia.
The stablemates were the fastest of the afternoon's four PASS winners.
Leaving from the outside post six, Frau Blucher (Broadway Hall-My Angel) fired to the lead from the outside post six and never looked back en route to a 1:55 score over the 'good' surface. Coffeecake Hanover finished four and a half lengths behind off a two-hole trip while Upfrontluckycarol rounded out the top three finishers. The 2012 PASS Championship winner is now two-for-two in stakes action for owners Hauser Bros Racing, J And T Silva Stables, and Matt Tudisco.
Lady Broadway (Broadway Hall-Lady Sj) went gate-to-wire to win her division in 1:55.1 by two and a half lengths. Favourite Mistery Woman, winner of her PASS division on May 17 at The Meadows over Lady Broadway, journeyed first over to finish second this time out while pocket-sitter Classic Martine came in third once again. Hauser Bros Racing, Susan Oakes, and Conrad Zurich share owner of the winner.
The other divisions were won by Fashion Farms' Fashion Athens (Broadway Hall-Athena Hanover) in 1:56.3 for the driver-trainer combination of John and Jim Campbell and Ruffleshaveridges (Tom Ridge-Ts Fast Forward), driven by Dan Rawlings and owned by trainer Rick and Regina Beinhauer, in 1:56.4.
Abelard Hanover was a repeat winner in the weekly $30,000 Winners Over Pace in 1:51.2, defeating the popular pacesetter Dial Or Nodial by one length off a pocket trip. The five-year-old gelding was driven by Ron Pierce for trainer Marvin Callahan and owners Alvin Callahan, Suzanne Waskey, and Pamela Price.
