Radio Auction Features Big Jim Breeding

Amherst Island radio station CJAI 92.l FM will be offering a breeding to 2010 O'Brien and Dan Patch Award winner Big Jim p, 2, 1:49.1s ($1,544,580), donated by owner Jim Carr, as part of its annual fundraiser running from Monday, May 20 to Friday, May 24.

The breeding will be available for a minimum bid of $3,000 with final bidding ending on May 24 at 9 p.m. when all auction items will be announced. Bids can be placed by calling (613) 384-8282 throughout the week. The Big Jim breeding is one of 75 prizes that will be auctioned off.

"Jim Carr and my husband have been involved in harness racing since the 1980's and Jim wants to do this for us here on the island, for our little radio station that is all volunteers and depends on the fundraiser to exist," host Susan Filson told Trot Insider.

Filson and co-host Dayle Gown will be interviewing Carr live on Monday at 2:30 p.m.

Canada's smallest radio station located near Kingston, CJAI has been in operation for seven years.
