Outlawpositivcharg, with Terry Gallant at the controls, recorded the fastest mile of 2013 with a 1:56.2 performance Thursday night at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Dubbed the 'Maritime Warrior' by track announcer Vance Cameron, Outlawpositivcharg, owned by Fred Lamont of Calgary, Alberta, was sent to the front to carve fractions of :28, :58.2 and 1:28 to record his 47th lifetime win. Le Fugueur (Marc Campbell) was second with Van Zant (Ron Matheson) finishing third.

The Fillies & Maries Open went to J K Special and Walter Cheverie in a dazzling 1:57.4. Joe Smallwood is the winning owner and trainer. It was Cheverie’s second winner of the night. General Luckypercy was second with Mylittlerebel third.

In other action, Acton O So Royal is three-for three this season winning the sixth race in 1:58.3 for driver Mark Bradley and owner Wayne Pike of Winsloe. Bradley recorded a driving double on the card.

Caliban Hanover captured the evening’s trot class for driver Ron Gass and owner Wendell MacDonald of Cornwall. The winning time was 2:02.1. Honeymoonisover was second for Brian Andrew while Zip the Lip was third for Brian MacPhee.
