Hornick Charged By OPP
In a release sent out today, the Ontario Provincial Police announced that members of the OPP Illegal Gambling Unit, the Ontario Racing Commission Investigative Unit, and Peel Regional Police Service have laid charges against Ken Hornick, and have dubbed him "a drug supplier to the horse racing industry."
On December 11, 2007, police attended a residence located on Forrestdale Circle in Mississauga, ON to execute two search warrants for illegal drugs under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Food and Drugs Act.
Police seized quantities of controlled drugs and unlabeled doctored substances during the execution of the search warrants.
Hornick, 43, of Mississauga, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and ten counts of unlawfully did have in his possession for sale drugs contrary to the Food and Drug Act.
Hornick will appear in Provincial Court at 7755 Hurontario Street, Brampton, Ontario on June 5th, 2008.
The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
