Bo Tie Blows Them Away
Bo Tie turned in a dominant performance for the dynamic duo of trainer Isabelle Binet and driver Pascal Berube in Tuesday’s $13,000 Invitational Pace at Sulky Trois Rivieres.
It was never in doubt for the eight-year-old son of Bo Knows Jate, who rumbled to an eight-length romp in the nine-horse affair. Berube parked past the quarter pole with Bo Tie, who eventually cleared and kicked out middle splits of :59.4 and 1:30.
He coasted home in :30.2 to post the 2:00.2 score, with Wedding Crasher rallying into the runner-up spot and Forever Western tagging along to finish third.
Sent off as a 6-1 outsider, Bo Tie won for the 13th time in 40 starts this season. It was the 41st lifetime score for the gelding, who is owned by Pascal Fleury of Lac Beauport and 9178 2524 Quebec Inc. of Portneuf, QC.
Earlier on the card, Le Constan Nico was awarded the win in the $11,000 Invitation Trot. The three-year-old son of Dauntless Bunny inherited the win as a result of an interference infraction committed by Hay Hay Charlie, who was first-placed-third.
He caused interference to pocket-sitter Run Must Rum Am in the late stages of the mile. Run Must Run Am finished third, but was placed second.
Gilles Dion returned to victory lane with Le Constan Nico, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of owner/trainer Sherwin Edwards of La Plaine, QC. It was the pacer’s fifth win of the season in 17 tries.
