SCauctionsonline Launch A Success
Standardbred Canada's first online auction is in the books, drawing rave reviews from sellers and SC Sales staff alike.
"I had lots of action on my horses," said Windsong Acres' Bill Loyens. "I sold all of my racehorses and was happy with what I got for them."
Loyens noted that he'd eagerly sell horses through the SCauctionsonline format again in the future.
"I think it's a great idea. It's a good way to sell to the U.S."
Trainer-owner Colin Johnson echoed Loyens' sentiments about the international audience reached through the online auction.
"I got a tremendous amount of phone calls from people. I got them from everywhere - Maryland, New York, Saskatchewan. I even had people stop by and see them at the farm. I like it."
SC Sales Manager Heather Reid was extremely pleased with the response for the first online auction, noting that the auction pages for the horses collectively boasted more than 26,000 page views.
"Online auctions are very convenient for buyers and sellers, and we are proud to be able to offer this new service," said Reid. "I'd like to personally thank all the consignors that have trusted us to sell their horses with SCauctionsonline and wish the successful buyers the best of luck with their new purchases."
