Fox Valley Armor Scores Milestone Win
Fox Valley Armor paced home for his 50th career victory on Wednesday (May 8) in Northfield Park’s fourth race.
The 11-year-old has made 236 career starts, winning 50 times and finishing second and third 33 and 29 times, respectively. Fox Valley Armor (Sportsmaster-Sew With Silk-Timujin) has career earnings of $548,663 and a lifetime mark of 1:51, taken at The Meadows at age eight. The pacer’s richest win was for a purse of $50,000 in a stake race at Harrah's Philadelphia in 2007.
On Wednesday, Fox Valley Armor left from post eight and sat the pocket through fractions of :28.3, :59, and 1:28. He tipped out in the lane and stopped the clock in 1:57.4, finishinga quarter-length in front of his closest competitor, Pandapocket (Ryan Stahl). He returned $4 to win.
Andy Rickert of Fredonia, Pennsylvania owns and trains Fox Valley Armor. Jason Merriman drove him to the milestone triumph.
Power Everywhere Streaks To Sixth Win
Power Everywhere paced home for her sixth straight win Wednesday (May 8) in Northfield Park’s sixth race.
The four-year-old was bred and is owned by Edwin Harwood of Monroe, Michigan. Trainer Calvin “Buck” Hollar has called upon Robin Miller to pilot the mare for all six of her consecutive victories.
Power Everywhere started from post five and led at every call through leisurely fractions of :29, :59, 1:29.1 and 1:57.4. She finished two lengths in front of her closest competitor, Majestic Duke (Ryan Stahl).
Wednesday’s triumph increased Power Everywhere’s (Kilowatt-Imagine Anywhere-Camluck) lifetime win tally to 10 and her career earnings to $16,048.
She was the overwhelming favourite and returned $2.10 to win.
