Armbro Edward Trots To Preferred Victory
Armbro Edward converted from the perfect pocket trip to take Saturday night’s featured $20,000 Preferred Trot for trainer/driver Justin Turcotte at a snowy Sudbury Downs.
The four-year-old Balanced Image gelding tucked in the two-hole as Check Le Look (Paul MacLean) lead the field through panels of :30.3 and 1:02.2 with at least two lengths to spare. At the third quarter station in 1:34.4, Armbro Edward popped the pocket and closed in on the pacesetter. The 8-1 shot sped home finishing the mile in 2:04.4.
Last week’s winner, Speedy Desperado (Richard Turcotte), finished a length back in second and True High Voltage (Scott Altizer) rounded out the top three.
Owned by Norbert Haesen of Berlin, Germany, Armbro Edward’s 14th lifetime win lifted his bankroll to $111,400.
