Bomb Scare At Trois Rivieres
Thursday evening’s program of racing at Sulky Trois Rivieres was delayed for an unusual and scary circumstance – a bomb threat.
“Police arrived sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and told us to evacuate the building as they had a call from someone who said there was a bomb at the grandstand,” Suzanne Emond, general manager of Sulky Trois Rivieres, told Trot Insider. “Obviously, we have to take it seriously, so we got everyone out of the grandstand.”
Emond said that everyone was safely evacuated and police searched the scene.
“The caller said that the bomb would blow up at 8:00 p.m.,” said Emond.
Fortunately, there was no bomb and eventually the scheduled card was completed.
“Everyone on hand was very cooperative, there wasn't any panic.”
