Dali Equals World Record In Matron
Dali smashed the track record for three-year-old pacing colts and tied Shadow Play's World Record for three-year-old pacing colts on a five eighths mile oval when he torched the Dover Downs oval in 1:48.2 in tonight’s $249,113 Matron Stakes Final.
The son of Real Artist captured his elimination in a time of 1:49.1 one week ago for driver Ron Pierce, and Dali was even more impressive in tonight’s follow-up effort for Duane Marfisi, who conditions the pacer for the Uncirculated Stable of Brantford, ON.
Pierce plugged Dali into the two-hole while Proper Respect sliced out a solid opening quarter of :26.1. Pierce didn’t sit for long, however, as he angled Dali off the pylons and quickly sent him to the engine as the field moved in front of the grandstand.
Sent off as the 4-5 choice, Dali rolled the field through fractions of :54.2 and 1:21 while feeling first-over pressure from last week’s other elimination winner, Blueridge Western. Dali muscled away from the field over the final quarter mile en route to the eye-catching clocking of 1:48.2. Blueridge Western finished second and third went to Lisfinny.
The victory was the fourth of the season in 19 starts for Dali, who bumped this year’s bankroll to $599,642 with the win. He also joined the millionaire club with the winning effort. He has banked $1,059,124 to date.

congrats to Dali and all the connections - but to be the Best you got to beat the Best ,and the Beach is the Best, maybe of all time.
His only loss, in monster mile and Brutal trip , is legendary and an instant classic.

$1 000 000+ in earnings, world record holder, fastest first starter at 2 yr. old of all time, Woodrow Wilson and Niatross Stakes Record Holder. I think that these are the facts that Dali is one of the best!

he will domonate if he stays healthy.
any one see the elimination race where he parked

it does not hurt having the worlds greatest driver in RON PEARCE.

FINISHING 4TH FROM AN AWFUL POST.
The Matron mile is very
The Matron mile is very impressive! How he looked at the end of it....holy moly!!! The previous comment was correct though, he never beat the "elite" 3yr olds. Lots of mediocre miles mixed in with a few impressive miles does not make a horse "elite", it just makes them a nice racehorse. Either way congrats on the win and happy holidays.
Nice!!!! job Ronnie 1:48.2
Nice!!!! job Ronnie
1:48.2 Awsome
Lets not get carried away by
Lets not get carried away by Dali winning the Matron. He beat nobody and when he ran against top 3 year olds he was a non contender at long odds. Get with the facts and realize he is not a top calibre horse.

1:48.2... and not a top
1:48.2... and not a top calibre horse??!! How many other horses have paced 1:48.2 on a 5/8 mile track? I think a world record performance pretty much places Dali in the company of the best of the best. Congrats again to Dali and Uncirculated Stable on their well deserved win!

In harness racing, money
In harness racing, money talks. And with the exception of Santanna Blue Chip, Dali had the most made in that race. He's a reeeal tough horse and has seemed to be improving as of late. I look forward to seeing him next year.
