Buffalo Open To Goodnite Goodluck
Goodnite Goodluck won the $11,000 Open Pace in 1:55.3 at Buffalo Raceway Saturday night (March 30).
The win was the second this year for Goodnite Goodluck, a seven-year-old bay by Bettors Delight, who registered seven wins in 39 starts last year.
Goodnite Goodluck ($10), driven by reinsman Kevin Cummings, took the lead from post five and set all the fractions in the race, :27.4, :58.2, and 1:27.3 to the three-quarter pole. A :28 last quarter-mile put the winner three lengths in front of second-place finisher Running Book (John Cummings Jr.) at the finish line. Naked News (Jim McNeight) came in third.
The $5,500 winner's share of the purse put Goodnite Goodluck’s seasonal earnings at $13,345 and lifetime bankroll at $235,732. He is trained J D Perrin and owned by Mark Jakubik of West Seneca, New York.
Dan Noble led all drivers with four wins on the card.
Racing will resume on Wednesday, April 3 with first post scheduled for 5 p.m. eastern time. The Pick 7 will have a $9,157.00 carryover for Wednesday as no one has hit the wager since the beginning of the meet. It starts in race six.
