Jamieson To Emcee Fundraiser
Canadian driving star Jody Jamieson has been pegged as the special emcee for Anthony MacDonald's upcoming reception to discuss the Progressive Conservative party's plans for Ontario as the province moves towards the next provincial election.
"I'm excited to do something I haven't done before and to have the ability or responsibility to moderate guests during the question and answer session," Jamieson told Trot Insider. "I look forward to seeing and hearing from our industry members on how and what they would like to see from their elected officials."
On February 12, 2013, Nepean-Carleton MPP Lisa MacLeod will be joining the Guelph Provincial Progressive Conservative Association for a reception at Mohawk Racetrack. Lisa was first elected in 2003 and currently serves as the Education Critic for the PC Party. She has been a vocal advocate for horse racing, criticizing the Liberals for their unprecedented attack on rural Ontario and the horse racing industry.
MacLeod will share her insight on the PC party's intentions and perspectives concerning horse racing as well as a range of other provincial issues. Lisa also looks forward to hearing your ideas, your experiences and how the misguided Liberal policy has impacted you and your family. Following her remarks, Lisa is happy to respond to questions you may have.
Anthony appreciates your continued support as he seeks election as the next Member of Provincial Parliament for Guelph.
Tickets are $100 per person and refreshments will be served. To register online, click the following link: Guelph Provincial PC Association Fundraising Event.
Interested individuals can also contact Jamieson or MacDonald for tickets or more information.
Ladies and gentlemen, When we
Ladies and gentlemen,
When we first heard the news people said " you can't fight the government!" some of us did and continue to do all we can.
Now it's "too late?".
We are on the brink of losing everything and still we can't fight together?
Instead of finding excuses to why it's too late or we can't win, why can't we just all try.
I never once heard the teachers say we can't fight the government and they were only getting a wage freeze as far as money goes.
We will lose everything. Is that how a responsible government treats its citizens? They lose billions of our money on e health, ornge, and simply left over a billion in the ground through the gas plant fiasco. The money our partnership garnered went to roads and heath care, and paid for mri's!
Stop listening and respreading the rhetoric of the liberals.
Facts are facts and our industry is worth investment from our government and our neighbors.
Don't just help me, help all of us fight, it's worth it and always has been worth it.
Anthony MacDonald
The damage has already been
The damage has already been done, horse racing or an MRI for my grandmother according to the Fiberals. We as an industry should have been screaming long ago but our leaders (The usual suspects) have let us down badly
congratulation jody and
congratulation jody and Anthony for your implication. the Ontario government will take the horse racing seriously only if you hurt them with the public opinion. therefore I suggest you to buy full pages in premier news papers of Ontario and really nail down ALL THE DAMAGE AND POOR JUDGEMENT this government is showing and the collusion with American casinos operators instead of rural farmers and the ton of poeole implicated in horse racing. ONLY THAN THEY WILL TAKE THE INDUSTRY SERIOUSLY.
In reply to congratulation jody and by shack
I'm a little
I'm a little confused.
Doesn't the Tim Hudak PCs want to privatize the province?
Do you think big corporate money is going to be interested in saving rural harness racing? They will go for the dough which is slot machines and casinos. Why would they partner with rural harness racing.
Ask yourself this....why did Great Canadian Gaming purchase Flamboro Downs and Georgian Downs? For the love of harness racing.
