MacDonald And Allard Dominate At RCR
The tandem of driver John MacDonald and trainer Rene Allard was nearly unstoppable during a multiple-win performance during Thursday’s 15-race program at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
MacDonald racked up six wins, and four of them hailed from the stable of trainer Allard.
The white-hot duo took the opener with Handsome Yankee (2:02.2) before registering a natural hat trick with Sleek Hunter (1:54.3 – Race 7), Smuggler Hall (1:59.4 – Race 8) and Angelic Star (1:57.1 – Race 9). MacDonald also clicked with the Jack Calce-trained Perfect Aggo (2:02.4 – Race 2) and the John MacMillan-trained Michelangelo (2:00.1 – Race 6) to bring his nightly win total to six.
MacDonald, a career winner of 2,614 races, has already made 31 trips to the winner’s circle this season. He’s put together seven consecutive seasons of banking in excess of $1 million in earnings, and to date he’s racked up more than $13 million in earnings.
Allard has produced 35 winners already this year, while his overall win total sits at 1,743. His barn, which has banked more than $2 million for four consecutive seasons, is quickly closing in on $14 million in lifetime purse earnings.
