NY Promotes Value Of Horse Racing
The New York Horse Racing and Agriculture Industry Alliance has released a video which details the overall benefits of horse racing in the Empire State.
The 11 minute video was played for USTA District 8A members by chairman Joe Faraldo this past weekend at the district's annual membership meeting. Along with the video, an informative packet was distributed at the meeting detailing the economic impact that the entire New York state equine industry represents.
The New York Horse Racing and Agriculture Industry Alliance is an informational alliance charged with protecting the current and future interests of a horse racing/agriculture industry that is responsible for 40,000 jobs across New York State.
Members of the New York Horse Racing and Agriculture Industry Alliance include: Empire State Harness Horsemen’s Alliance, Finger Lakes Horsemen Benevolent Protective Association, Harness Horse Association of Central NY, Harness Horse Breeders of New York State, Monticello Harness Horsemen’s Association, New York Farm Bureau, New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc., New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association, Saratoga Harness Horseperson’s Association, Standardbred Owners Association of NY, and Western NY Harness Horsemen’s Association.

As always Lynne has a handle on the good, the bad and the ugly! I agree with her most of the time. My question is where are all our organizations that should have prepared and distributed the same type of video to our own misinformed and forgotten populace? If you don*t feel tears forming watching this well produced documentary then you need help! If we use the New York video as a template and present it Ontario wide I along with many others would make the marketing costs available. Somebody please think and act outside the box! We as an industry deserve much better than we*ve received up till now! We have proven in the past we can compete with any other jurisdiction in the world. Forget our individual unhappiness and concentrate on all the out of work people involved!PLEASE!

How many times could one substitute "Ontario" for "New York"? Great video. Now if we can only get it into mainsteam media to educate the vast majority of people who haven't a clue about the value of horse racing in North America or the problems that we are facing on both sides of the border.
