Hat Trick For Clic K
On the heels of a 13-win campaign in 2012, Clic K is clearly looking to duplicate last year’s success. He captured Monday’s feature race at The Raceway at the Western Fair District and in doing so racked up his third victory of the season.
Clic K, who won London’s top class on January 14 and followed it up with a score in a $20,000 conditioned event at Woodbine Racetrack on January 19, went to the front and didn’t look back en route to an easy victory in Monday’s $13,200 Preferred for the tandem of driver Jason Brewer and trainer Ben Wallace.
Brewer hustled the gelding to immediate command from Post 3 and successfully laid down fractions of :27, :56.4 and 1:26.4 over a track rated ‘sloppy’ with a two-second allowance before storming home in :29.2 to win by 4-1/2 lengths over Royal Outlook in 1:56.1. Machal Jackson rounded out the Triactor ticket in the eight-horse affair.
The five-year-old son of Shanghai Phil-Eclatante, who is owned by the Holland Racing Stable of Aurora and Brad Grant of Milton, ON, is now a 24-time winner who has banked $275,569 to date.
