Five Straight For Mego Moss
If the manufacturer of trotting hopples is looking for a poster boy to advertise its product it needs to look no further than Mego Moss.
The son of Amigo Hall-Taras Terror has been a trotting terror since trainer Ronda Markle re-rigged him with a set of trotting hopples. In fact, the homebred is now undefeated in five starts since the change.
The gelding registered his fifth consecutive victory Thursday evening at Woodbine Racetrack, and he did so in front-stepping fashion for driver Billy Davis, Jr. who hustled him to the lead and then through fractions of :28.1, :58 and 1:27.2. A :30.1 final quarter is all it took for Mego Moss to seal the deal in 1:57.3, with Thunor and Valdabro also hitting the board in the $18,000 conditioned event.
Sent off as the 5-2 second choice, Mego Moss improved his lifetime record to 5-0-2 from 15 starts with the win while boosting his overall earnings to $42.295. Shaun Moscrop of Cobourg, ON bred and owns the talented four-year-old.
