Logans Hero Wins London Preferred
Canada's leading driver and trainer of 2012 teamed up to win Friday night's featured $13,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at Western Fair Raceway with the front-striding Logans Hero.
Trevor Henry steered the Richard Moreau trainee to a 1:59.1 triumph over the defending class champion and slight favourite, Chinnys Wings (Doug Bowins). Lexis D J (Ross Battin) was third.
Logans Hero worked his way to the lead from post four and carved out fractions of :29, :59, and 1:28.3 en route to the victory while early trailer Chinnys Wings vaulted off the cover of Lexis D J late to edge by that foe one length behind. The victory was his 29th lifetime and gives him a 1-1-0 slate in two 2013 starts.
Keith Cassell of Smiths Falls, Ont. owns the eight-year-old son of Angus Hall, who has banked $352,916 in purses throughout his career.
Logans Hero paid $9.20 to win.
