Gord McNaughton Passes

Longtime Manitoba standardbred owner Gordon Lyle McNaughton, born November 3, 1943, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 12 surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Gord leaves behind to cherish his memory his Mother Marie, wife Trina, children Darryl, Darlene, Robert, Danny (Nikky) and Kenny. Brothers Bruce, Ted and Randy, sisters Sandy, Rosiland, Debbra and Leasi. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law and very dear friends.

Gord was well known around the racing industry, especially in western Canada. One of his favourite horses he has owned is Allamerican Orchid, who now stands as a broodmare at Richard Rey’s farm in St. Claude, Manitoba.

A special thank you to Dr. Pat Harris and Cancer Care Manitoba, Palliative Care doctors and nurses, and to Lisa and Shannon from Home Care. Gord will be greatly missed by all of the lives he touched.

Gord's family will be holding a celebration of Gord’s life on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 6:00 p.m at Charleswood Community Church, 760 Charleswood Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Donations can be made in Gord’s memory to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Childrens Hospital (Winnipeg) or Cancer Care Manitoba.
