Last year's Manitoba Western Great Stake champion Miliondollardesign won the $11,000 Open Pace in 1:57.3 at Buffalo Raceway on Saturday night (January 12).

The win was the first this year for Miliondollardesign, who registered seven wins in 18 starts last season.

Miliondollardesign ($7.60) driven by reinsman Billy Dobson, left sharply from post one and set all the fractions in the race, :29.3, :59.1, and 1:28.4. A :28.4 last quarter-mile put the winner four and a quarter lengths ahead of second-place finisher Wisers Deluxe (Shawn Gray) at the wire. Fantasypan (Jack Flanigen) came in the show spot.

Trained by John Mungillo, the $5,500 share of the winning purse put Miliondollardesign’s lifetime earnings at $25,506.

The four-year-old Ontario-sired gelding out of Million Dollar Cam is owned by Arrhythmic LLC of West Seneca, New York.

Dobson, for the second night in a row, led all drivers with four wins on the card. Besides the Open, Dobson’s other winners were Imbadimnationwide ($6.30), Marvelthisbliss ($11.20), and Machman ($4.90).
