Instant Racing To KY Supreme Court
It has reported that today (Friday, January 11) Kentucky's Supreme Court agreed to review a ruling by the state's Court of Appeals regarding 'instant racing,' otherwise known as 'historical racing.'
An article by the Lexington Herald-Leader explains that the request for review had come in from the raceways in the state and from Governor Steve Beshear.
Instant racing allows gamblers to wager on unknown, previously-run races via terminals. The terminals have been operating at Kentucky Downs and Ellis Park and have received a warm reception from customers.
The Court of Appeals ruling that will be reviewed sent the instant racing issue back to Franklin Circuit Court.
