Cantab Lindy Lights Up The Board
Sent off the longest shot in the field, Cantab Lindy took advantage of the leader’s late miscue and pulled off a 35-1 shocker in Tuesday’s $22,500 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Run And Tell Pap appeared to have the race in hand, but the swift fractions caught up with him, and he broke stride in mid-stretch. Cantab Lindy was able to chart a course inside for Greg Grismore and score in 1:53.4, a career best. Tamarind fell a nose short in the Lightning Lane while the pocket-sitting Fox Valley Smarty was fourth-placed-third.
Roy Mac Davis trains the five-year-old Cantab Hall-Lindy N Caviar gelding, who soared over $100,000 in lifetime earnings, for Brent Davis.
Aaron Merriman and Brett Miller each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
