Hoosier To Become S-Breds Only?
It has been reported that there is a strong possibility that Indiana's Hoosier Park could become a standardbreds-only raceway in the near future.
According to a report by The Courier-Journal, Centaur Holdings, which owns Hoosier Park, has submitted a bid to take over Indiana Downs.
The article states that Centaur is looking to hold its thoroughbred and quarter-horse racing at Indiana Downs. The move would therefore leave Hoosier Park as a standardbred-only facility in terms of live on-track pari-mutuel racing.
The Indiana Horse Racing Commission is scheduled to rule on the matter this Friday (December 14).
