It will be a field of eight behind the gate for Friday night's $75,000 Northlands Filly Pace and Phone Terror, with Serge Masse in the sulky, gets the rail and 3-5 morning line favourite status after winning as she pleased in last week's elimination.

Masse said the three-year-old daughter of Western Terror overcame lameness issues as a yearling and now she's matured into a pretty special racehorse for owners Melissa and Claudine Masse of Edmonton, Alberta.

"I broke her and she was pretty lame at the beginning," he said. "We had some trouble with her knee, during the first six months, so we quit with her for a while. She made it to the races in late 2011 and the more she saw the gate the better she got."

Phone Terror picked up four wins and two seconds from those six starts in 2011. From 18 starts this year, she's got 10 wins, two seconds and two thirds, and a mark of 1:52.4 taken on her win in the $50,000 Ralph Klein Breeders Stakes at Alberta Downs on July 22.

"This year she came back great," Masse continued. "She started off the year with six straight wins in B.C. and she's still going strong."
