'Milbymania' In Full Effect
Leading driver Frank Milby turned in another big night at Rosecroft Raceway on Tuesday night (December 4).
Milby had 11 drives on the 13-race card and had five winners, two seconds and a third. He also had another finish fourth for a huge night.
Milby won the second race with Storm Logan in a maiden-breaking 1:57 for owners Norman, Dawn and Storm Short of Georgetown, Delaware. Melanie Major trains the five-year-old son of Badlands Hanover who only began racing a month ago with a qualifier at Dover Downs.
Milby won the fourth race with 11-year-old SOS Mackenna in a lifetime mark of 1:54. Edward Evans owns and trains the winner who scored career win number 23.
Milby made it two in a row using a two-hole trip to score in 1:54.2 with Trophy Hunter for trainer Jason Green. It was the fifth win of the season and 18th of Trophy Hunter’s career. The winner is owned by Gloria Kinnamon.
Milby put Beauty And A Beast on the engine in the seventh race and finished a solid second. Two off-the-board finishes followed in the eighth and ninth races, but Milby was far from done for the night.
In the tenth race, Milby sat fourth early with trainer Megan Fortna’s Trickledown Theory. The duo was on the move approaching half mile. 'Trickledown' roared up uncovered and went by the pack on the backside and was an open-lengths winner in a lifetime mark of 1:58.4. Coray Mitchell owns the winner who has scored three wins in his last four starts after racing on the Iowa fair scene until recently.
Milby scored his fifth win with owner Thomas Cooke’s Gone Nuclear, trained by Roger Hans. 'Nuclear' made two moves to command and effortlessly cruised to victory in 1:51.3, missing his lifetime mark by one fifth of a second. Gone Nuclear closed the deal with a :56 back-half that opened up on the field.
