Dobson Rolls A Five At Monticello

It was not another head-to-head driving contest at Monticello Raceway on Monday afternoon, but newcomer Billy Dobson and the tracks leading driver Jordan Stratton did not leave much for the other guys.

On the cool crisp afternoon of the 13 races carded, Dobson won five and Stratton won four.

Dobson drew first blood when he won the first race with Kattina Eyes ($8.00) in 2:00.3. Stratton then won the second with trotter Numberonefan ($3.20) in 2:04.2.

Dobson scored again in the fourth with the trotter Sams Good Friday ($4.90) in 2:05.2 and then he took the fifth behind Awaring Ledew ($5.00) in 2:00. It was Dobson again in the seventh, scoring aboard Julias Girl ($4.40) for a 2:00.2 triumph, and then Stratton took over again.

Stratton then won three consecutive races; the eighth with Miss McIvor N ($5.50) in 1:58.2; the ninth behind Destiny Dream ($3.20) in 2:01 and then wrapped up his afternoon with a 2:01 trotting victory with Genesis Royal Oak ($4.30).

Dobson registered his fifth victory on the card with Jeffrey’s Girl ($11.60) in 2:00.1.

Just a week ago, Dobson, 24, won six races on a race program at Monticello and now has 24 victories since coming east from Michigan with just his colours and gloves. Stratton, 21, who won four races on the card at Yonkers Raceway on Saturday night, just keeps cruising along atop the Monticello Raceway leaderboard, now with 334 driving victories.
