MRC Searching For New Exec Director
The Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC), which regulates horse racing and card clubs at racetracks in the state, has opened a nationwide search for a new executive director to succeed the incumbent who recently retired after 22 years in the position.
A new executive director will be appointed by Governor Dayton, choosing from one or more qualified candidates submitted by the MRC.
Applications and resumes from qualified candidates are being accepted by Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB) (look for job posting No. 12RACC000010) through December 21, 2012. Screening by MMB and interviews by the MRC search committee will be conducted and finalists will be selected by December 31, 2012. The target date for appointment of a new director is February 1, 2013.
“We are seeking a strong leader who can help us meet the challenges and find the opportunities to continue improving our regulatory oversight and help the Minnesota horse-racing industry,” states Jesse Overton, Chair of the Minnesota Racing Commission. “MRC is passionate about our mission to maintain the integrity of horse racing and card playing and has worked diligently over the years to build a highly regarded horse racing program.”
