Meadows Set For Its 50th Season
The Meadows Racetrack & Casino today released its racing schedule for 2013 — the track’s 50th anniversary season — featuring 208 live cards and highlighted by the Delvin Miller Adios on July 20 and July 27.
Mike Jeannot, president of Meadows Racing, noted that the track has offered 208 live cards for the past several years.
“Unlike other tracks that have been forced to reduce their dates, we are delighted to continue to offer a robust schedule of live racing,” he said. “That is a reflection of the healthy state of harness racing at The Meadows and throughout Pennsylvania.”
Generally, The Meadows will race four days each week — Monday and Tuesday at 12:55 p.m., Wednesday and Friday at 6:55 p.m. The schedule also features:
• Thirteen Saturday cards, including both Adios programs, in the spring and summer. Post times for the “Pace for the Orchids” cards have not been finalized;
• Thursday racing throughout March;
• A two-week summer break from live racing beginning Aug. 17. Simulcasting will continue to be offered at all facilities.
Throughout the year, The Meadows will stage special events and promotions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its June 28, 1963 opening. Details of those activities will be announced as they are finalized.
