Anders Bluestone Circles Dover Trotters
Ross Wolfenden set Anders Bluestone in motion from the back of the pack and quickly zoomed down the backstretch in the $23,000 Open Handicap Trot to score a 1:57.1 victory on a rainy, windy and sloppy track Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Dover Downs.
The victory was one of four on the card for Wolfenden, who recently led all drivers at Harrington. For the Eric Ell-trained Anders Bluestone, it was his 14th victory of the season in 26 starts and pushed his seasonal earnings to $322,550 for owners Ken Wood and Bill Dittmar. Wood funds a great part of his personal campaign to dig wells for natives of Ghana and Tanzania with earnings from his horses.
Sun Of A Victory and Daryl Bier closed well to finish second, just a neck behind. Allmar Surprise and Vic Kirby were third.
Wood and Dittmar claimed Anders Bluestone in late summer two years ago, and the Yankee Glide-Annette Hanover quickly returned to top class status.
Trainer Josh Green won three races on the program.
