Hyperion Hanover Opens Up In Open
In rein to Rick Zeron, Hyperion Hanover prevailed by open lengths in tonight’s $50,000 Open Pace at Woodbine Racetrack.
As Hyperion Hanover settled in third off the gate, Silent Swing (Paul MacDonell) rolled to the front and posted a brisk :25.4 opening quarter leaving Ramegade Bruiser (Randy Waples) parked out in second. The two battled on the front end past the half in :54, but by the third quarter station Ramegade Bruiser began the show signs of fatigue. As the field entered the stretch, Hyperion Hanover popped the pocket and pounced on the pacesetter. The five-year-old son of Camluck waved goodnight to the Open field as he pulled away by four lengths, winning in 1:50.1.
Eagle On It (Sylvain Filion) and Tigerama (Jason Brewer) finished second and third respectively.
Hyperion Hanover notched his 21st win boosting his bankroll to $579,793 for trainer Rob Fellows and the S S G Stables of North Boston, New York.
