'Comet' Streaks Home In Preferred

Carols Comet saved all the ground, then blistered the last quarter in :27.3 to capture Monday’s $22,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Carols Comet was content to let Village Beat and Something For Doc duel for the early lead, sitting a comfortable third for Brett Miller. The three-year-old Yankee Cruiser-Modern Medicine gelding poured through the Lightning Lane to triumph in 1:51.1, matching his career best. Village Beat was second, with Something For Doc third.

Ron Potter trains Carols Comet for Martin Presser, Whiskey Tango Stable, Bill Moore and Matthew Moore.
