Henry Wins Eight On Opening Night
Western Fair Raceway's leading driver Trevor Henry was back on top Friday night when he kicked off the new meet at the London, Ontario half-mile oval with a dominant eight-win performance during the 12-race opening card.
Henry began the evening with a victory right out of the starting gate as he won the first race aboard Its Perfect ($3.70) for trainer Bob McIntosh. His next win came in race four with the Stephane Bossence-trained Southwind Califon ($2.90). The resident of Arthur, Ont. made it back to the winner's circle after guiding Insincerity ($3.40) to victory in the sixth race for conditioner William Hamm.
Henry then reeled off five consecutive wins beginning in race eight to close out the card. He scored with another McIntosh trainee, Take It All In ($3.90), Fashion Fun ($5.40) for the track's leading conditioner Dan Creighton, American Royal ($3.40) for Paul Taylor, Black Diamond Star ($9.40) for Peter Hamilton, and Larjon Laura ($3.70) for Larry Lane.
Henry is the second leading driver in all of Canada so far this year with 383 seasonal scores. He trails Billy Davis Jr. by just four victories.
