Henriksen Scores A Trotting Triple
Trainer-driver Per Henriksen earned star of the card honours on Friday night at Rideau Carleton Raceway as he sent out the most winners from his barn during the 15-race card.
Henriksen won with a trio of trotters, beginning in the fourth race with three-year-old colt Loftus Veltus ($3.60). The maiden-breaking three-year-old filly Fiery Manes ($6.90) was a winner in the 12th and four-year-old gelding Rebel Windsong won the 14th race for the O'Brien Award winning horseman.
The resident of Norwood, Ont. has earned 58 of his 795 career wins this season.
Rideau's leading trainer Rene Allard was the only other repeat winner at the Ottawa oval as he doubled up with six-year-old pacing gelding Spacehill ($5.10) in the 11th and three-year-old pacing filly Wine After Five ($4.10) in the 15th. Allard also picked up another Friday victory over at Flamboro Downs with the six-race streaking trotter Rae Conns Dyl Emma.
