Canadian Yearling Sale First Session Complete

Warrawee Phoenix was the sale topper for the first session of Standardbred Canada’s 2012 Canadian Yearling Sale on Saturday.

The Camluck brother to 2011 O'Brien Award winner Warrawee Needy, Warrawee Phoenix was purchased by David Menary as agent for $90,000.

A total of 124 yearlings went through the sales ring on Saturday, bringing $1,013,900 for an average of $8,176.

The Canadian Yearling Sale continues on Sunday, September 16 at the SC Sales Pavilion at Flamboro Downs, beginning at 12:00 noon with hips 131 to 272. The sale features yearlings from the first crop of sires Artistic Fella, Federal Flex, If I Can Dream, Major In Art, Mister Big, Shadow Play, The Pres, and Windsong Espoir as well as the first Ontario-eligible crops of Astronomical and Deweycheatumnhowe.
