Giroux & Johnson Pupils Dominate At Rideau
Trainer Sebastien Giroux sent a total of four winners postward while Colin Johnson picked up a training triple during Sunday night's 15-race program at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
The hot-handed John MacDonald engineered winning trips for all four Giroux victors; The Big Fred in Race 2 (2:03.2), Loaded in Race 10 (1:58.1), Speed Samadhi in Race 13 (2:01.1) and Ride The Bus in Race 14 (2:00.2).
The resident of L'Ange-Gardien, Quebec is currently having his best season for earnings bringing in $471,518 in purses. Giroux has recorded 90 wins this year and 425 in his career.
Colin Johnson picked up his wins in Race 4 with Mayas Girl (2:04.1), in Race 9 with All Ablaze (2:01) and Race 12 with Astreas Notice (2:00). Stephane Gendron sat in the bike for the hat trick.
Johnson, a resident of Le Gardeur, Quebec has recorded 198 wins this season and a total of 2,630. His yearly earnings equal over $1.4 million.
Driver Guy Gagnon was also on a roll prevailing in six of the 15 dashes.
