Many 'Firsts' At 2012 Harrisburg Sale

There will be an astonishing number of firsts in the yearling portion of this year’s Harrisburg Sale. There are 261 yearlings who are by first-year stallions. In addition, there are 205 yearlings who are the first foals of their respective dams.

In numerical order, the trotting sires whose first crop will be sold at Harrisburg include Explosive Matter (59), Muscle Hill (30), Federal Flex (13), Swan For All (3) and Lear Jetta (3).

The first-year pacing sires with yearlings selling at Harrisburg include Well Said (56), Shadow Play (37), Art Official (22), Mister Big (15), Artistic Fella (9), If I Can Dream (8), Major In Art (5) and Dali (1).

Of the first foals, 38 are out of mares who earned in excess of $200,000 with many more out of mares who have earned in excess of $100,000. The action begins early with the first yearling in the sale – Hip No. 1, Takterrific, being an Art Major filly, the first foal from Ready To Win p,2,1:53.1f, 1:52.1($211,283).
