Allard Tops Rideau's Sunday Card
Rideau Carleton Raceway's leading reinsman Simon Allard made five trips to the winner's circle during the final portion of Sunday's harness racing card at the Ottawa, Ont. oval
Allard didn't get his first win until the eighth race with Marc Lamarche trainee Lima Sensation ($4.60), but once he tasted victory he was unstoppable. He put together back-to-back wins in the 10th and 11th races aboard Oakmont ($4.30) for brother Rene and Shes Everything ($3) for Sam Sergi. He also won the 13th and 14th races with Claude Grondin trainee Stonebridge Magnum ($11.90) and Yorkster ($7.90), conditioned by Sebastien Quesnel.
Driver Denis St. Pierre, who sits second in the track's drivers standings, also enjoyed a productive night winning four races earlier on the card.
