Seven Straight For Good Goin Yankee
The going has proved to be very good in recent weeks for Good Goin Yankee, who stretched his win streak to seven-in-a-row thanks to a 1:56.2 victory at Flamboro Downs on Friday night.
In rein to J.R. Plante, Good Goin Yankee got away second from last in the eight-horse field, and he spent the entire mile on the rim. He gradually picked up positions in the back-half of the mile en route to a driving off victory for trainer Sue Gangell.
The five-year-old son of Precious Bunny, who is owned by David Schneider of Coral Springs, FL, won for the ninth time in 20 trips postward this season. The 20-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over the $100,000 mark with the score.
