Officials in the Vernon Downs race office have announced that the track is offering a new late-closing event.

A late-closer for three and four-year-old trotters that are non-winners of $20,000 or two pari-mutuel races (fillies and mares non-winners of $30,000 or three pari-mutuels) lifetime as of September 1, 2012 is being offered.

The series will have two legs at $6,000 and a final of $10,000 (added), estimated to be $15,000. The legs will race on consecutive Fridays; September 28 and October 5, with the final on October 12.

Nomination requires a payment of $200 due by September 14. There are no further fees to be paid.
