‘Jack’ And ‘Jill’ Among PASS Winners

Harness racing returned to the Indiana County Fairgrounds in Indiana, PA on Monday, with eight PA Sire Stake races.

Steve Schoeffel won four races on the day, beginning with the first division of the PA Sire Stake three-year-old colt trot. Bob And Bobby (Andover Hall) went wire-to-wire in 2:04.3. Susan Daugherty owns the nine-time winner on the season, while Bill Daughtery trains.

The second colt division and the first division of the filly trot went to a pair of stablemates – Meadowbranch Jack and Meadowbranch Jill. Todd Schadel trains and drove both for owner Hans Enggren. Meadowbranch Jack, by SJs Caviar, trotted in 2:06.3 while Jill, by Cantab Hall, was a 2:05.2 winner.

In the second filly trotting sire stake, RT USS Chilton led every step of the way for the Brocious Racing Stable and trainer/driver Bobby Rougeaux. RT USS Chilton (RT Giant) trotted the mile in 2:09.

The day’s richest race was the $11,385 PASS Colt Pace, and Top Of The Mark went right to the lead from post two, backing off the half to 1:02, before sprinting home in :58.3 for a mile in 2:00.3. Schoeffel catch-drove for owner Harry Locke and trainer Mike Gillock.

Three divisions of filly pacers ended the day, and Argument Hanover (Yankee Cruiser) captured the first division in 2:04.1. Jim Dodson drove for owner/trainer Ron Lineweaver.

Schoeffel picked up another catch-driving win in the second division, as Snickerdoodle picked up her first career win in her 25th start, pacing in 2:02.4. Michael and Yvonne Medors own the Allamerican Ingot filly, while Patrick Medors trains.

The day’s final race was captured by Wanna Go Fast, trained and driven by Schoeffel. Trish Adams and Brooke Schoeffel own the Yankee Cruiser filly, now a seven-time winner on the season. The winning time was 2:03.4.

Two-year-olds will be in action on Tuesday at Indiana, with eight heats slated to begin at noon. In Northwestern PA, the Erie County Fair in Wattsburg will get underway on Tuesday, as well.
