Shark Gesture Returns, Stars Qualify
Shark Gesture came out of retirement today and won his first qualifying test back, as a total of 21 dashes made up the star-studded qualifying session that took place at Gaitway Farm in New Jersey.
In Race 1, Shark Gesture, who hadn't raced since July of 2007, stopped the clock in 1:57.2. From 34 career starts, the five-year-old son of Cams Card Shark has a record of 13-7-2, a mark of 1:49.1 taken over the Red Mile and in excess of $1 million in overall purses.
Race 5 saw three-year-old Linda Toscano-trained Bettors Delight colt Share The Delight come out victorious after putting in a mile in 1:51.1.
Race 6 saw William Wellwood Memorial victor Tom Cango, a freshman Tom Ridge colt, defeat Dover Miss in a 1:57.1 mile.
Two-year-old Muscles Yankee colt Muscle Hill reigned supreme in Race 7, as the Peter Haughton Memorial winner stopped the clock in 1:57.3.
Two-year-old Western Ideal filly Twist N Clout found her stride in Race 12, as the multiple stakes winner stepped to a victorious mile in 1:56.
Three-year-old Real Desire filly Btwnyurheartnmine was solid in Race 13, as the $300,000 Kentucky Sires Stakes champion stopped the clock in 1:55.
Jugette winner Good News Lady was in good form in Race 14, as the Western Ideal filly clicked off the timer first in 1:54.4 in Race 14.
Woodrow Wilson and Metro Pace winner Major In Art was tops in Race 16, as the Art Major colt won in 1:55.
Freshman Western Ideal colt Dial Or Nodial captured Race 17, as the International Stallion Stakes and New Jersey Sires Stakes winner stopped the clock first in 1:55.4.
Three-year-old Allamerican Ingot gelding Blueridge Western hit the wire first during Race 18. The mile time was recorded in a snappy 1:51.3.
