More Mainstream Press For 'The Beach'
Somebeachsomewhere continues to get ink in mainstream publications, as The Toronto Star and The Chronicle Herald have ran stories on the World Record holder heading into the $300,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals tomorrow at Woodbine Racetrack.
"He just seems to be getting stronger and better and enjoying the cooler weather," Brent MacGrath, trainer of the Mach Three colt, told Dave Perkins of The Toronto Star. "We trained him Sunday and just let him come a final half (mile) in 53 (seconds) and a piece and he did it just easily. Like always."
Somebeachsomewhere's Super Final performance will be the last time he races on his native Canadian soil. From there, he will contest the Breeders Crown at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey and eventually take a trip to the breeding shed.
"He’s very good and very healthy; he’s always been that way," MacGrath told The Chronicle Herald. "Most horses at this time of year are starting to show the wears of their athletic activities. They’re usually hurting come the end of the season and aren’t as fresh or loose as they first started. But 'Beach' appears to be one who overcomes that. He’s such an athlete who’s in good shape. He appears to be getting stronger."
The Beach has drawn Post 3 in Woodbine's seventh race tomorrow. He has been installed as an overwhelming 1-5 favourite in the morning line odds. Click here to view the entries.
